Hello all ECFHL League GM's. For those that don't know me, my name is Kevin Dolan and I'm the new Boston Bruins General Manager. First of all, I would like to thank all of you for welcoming me into the league. Secondly, I am glad to take over the prestigious Boston Bruins job. I have alot of work I need to do to turn this team around and I am hitting the ground running listening trade offers and making other decisions.
I want to explain my proposed trade to the Winnipeg Jets GM. I want to be perfectly clear as to how this trade offer came about being that it was a landslide rejection. Winnipeg expressed interest in Zdeno Chara. Clearly the best player on my team. Being that my team has no farm team, no depth..I have to consider all trades to begin the rebuilding process. I was asked what I would want for him. I originally asked for Angelo Esposito, along with Brayden Schenn and Brian Festerling. (Keep in mind I'm new to the league and need to get used to the player ratings and re rates and all of that). Winnipeg said that they would trade Schenn and Festerling, but not Esposito. So than I asked for Patrice Cormier and a 1st round pick. And we struck an agreement. From my point of view, I THOUGHT I was getting a solid deal based on the names in the trade but based on league progressions, I was essentially getting ripped off because player development in this league is a very slow development and I was getting back guys in the beginning stages of there development. I'm going to flat out say that I'm disappointed that Winnipeg tried taking advantage of me being that he's familiar with the rules and he knew I was a new GM. And I want it to be known league wide that I am not a pushover and I know my players. Just didn't know the progressions in this league. So there you have my side and point of view.
If and when the Chara trade gets rejected, he will be available for whatever GM wants to give a solid deal to me. I'm looking to build my team around offensive talent and I'm looking for two players of at least a 74 rating along with a solid defenseman and/ or prospects/ picks.
Everybody else on the team is available for trade as well. My AIM name is GSOT 237.
