After hearing the rumors swirling about possibly leaving Denver, Chris Stewart knew his days were numbered. The rumors became true today as Colorado shipped Stewart to Columbus in a seven player deal.
Along with Stewart, the Blue Jackets received Blake Comeau, Pavel Kubina, Carter Ashton and a 1st round pick in year 4.
Coming to Denver are Brooks Laich, Jakub Voracek, Ryan Whitney and a 2nd round pick in year 4.
Reports indicate that this is the fourth deal brokered for Stewart in the last two days as the previous three negotiations all fell through. "Now I know how the New Orleans Hornets feel", joked the Avalanche GM.

Calling BS... I offered Columbus 15 players and a draft pick for Voracek. He wouldn't trade him because my team is black... and orange.
